Sudden
Death
The Fearship
Sudden death is the hidden fear
Embedded in all
our psyches
That pushes us to be gluttonous
And live like there's no
tomorrow.
The fear of dying suddenly
Was created to drive
economies
Get it, buy it, use it up now
Hurry, sale ends
tonight
There'll be nothing left tomorrow.
So many sudden ways to
die
A bullet, a car wreck, a broken neck
A plane crash, a heart attack, a
bomb
A missile, an icepick in the ear
There's even a syndrome for
babies
No one is safe
Here today, gone tomorrow.
The fear of sudden
death
Lurks in the back of our mind
Like an ogre goading us
Drowning
out our inner voice
Urging us to do everything now
Better hurry, do not
wait
For there is no promise
Of tomorrow.
Save yourself
Jump
ship.
